Please mark your calendars for these upcoming CCWWC walks.
NOTE: Due to State of Alabama requirements because of COVID-19, masks are REQUIRED to enter all of our start point locations.
Please come walk with us at our next group walk, which will be the Athens YRE (group walk) on October 17, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
Directions to Start Point: Traveling North on I-65 take Exit 351. Travel West on Hwy 72 and continue approximately 1.5 miles. Bear right on Clinton Street and proceed approximately 1 mile. Turn right on Market, then go straight ahead into Big Spring Memorial Park. The start point for the walk is at the Athens Visitor’s Center which is at the park.
(NOTE: Please go straight to the Athens Visitor’s Center rather than the Hampton Inn where the walk box is normally located. Karen will pick up the registration book and stamp pad, etc. from the walk box and bring it over to the Athens Visitor’s Center)
After the walk, we will have lunch at Cracker Barrel. It is located at 1212 Kelli Drive, Athens, AL 35611. To get there, head back to Hwy 72 and travel east towards I-65. Cracker Barrel is just past I-65 near the Hampton Inn.
Due to COVID-19, Huntsville’s Maple Hill Cemetery Stroll has been cancelled. Therefore, we will NOT be having a group walk on October 18 in Huntsville as initially shown on the calendar.
If you still want to walk our year-round-events on your own, please note that the starting point for Montevallo is now reopen. The walk box at City Hall located in the front lobby - 541 Main St, Montevallo, AL.
For the YREs in Athens, Birmingham, and Montgomery – the walk boxes are at hotels, which should be open. The YRE in Monroeville is at the Police Station, which should also be open. However, we suggest that you contact the start point location directly to determine the status, since it may change on a day-to-day basis, or you can contact the walk POC.
The Huntsville/Madison County Visitor Center has reopened with socially distanced modifications, so our walk box will be available to anyone wanting to do the walk.
We appreciate all of your support during this challenging time.
